OutlineThis grant supports a “Peace Culture in Japan” course (in which students study the cultural effects of the atomic bombings in Japan during WWII and travel to Japan over Spring Break) and a Peace Exhibit, “70 years After the Atomic Bombs: Hiroshima and Nagasaki.”

OutlineThis grant supports the creation of a class on contemporary Japanese politics and society with guest lecturers and an embedded study tour to Japan. The trip includes a visit to the National Diet, cultural landmarks in Kyoto and Nara, companies in Shizuoka and Osaka, and the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima. Kinki University and Aoyama Gakuin University will host academic lectures.
