Outline | This grant supports the South Florida Partnership in Japanese Studies (SFPJS), housed at Florida International University, which includes Florida Atlantic University (FAU), the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, and the Florida Delegation of the Southeast U.S./Japan Association. One component of the grant is the establishment of a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Japanese History with an emphasis on the pre-modern period and transnational issues. The new faculty member will expand studies of Japan as part of the Asian Studies Program at FIU.
