NOBUNAGA CONCERTO (2016)

Based on the manga by ISHII Ayumi which has sold over 3 million copies, NOBUNAGA CONCERTO, directed by MATSUYAMA Hiroaki, is a live action film with an unexpected concept and a pop worldview. Saburo is the modern-day Japanese high school student who suddenly goes back in time to become the historical warlord ODA Nobunaga, confronting the surprise attack that led to the warlord’s death (known as the Honno-ji Incident) as he strived to build a peaceful Japan.

Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2010)

Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is the 4th film adaptation of TSUTSUI Yasutaka’s 1967 short novel, exploring generational difference with the excitement and emotion of its original. YOSHIYAMA Akari, played by NAKA Riisa, who also voiced in HOSODA Mamoru’s animated adaptation, is about to graduate from high school and begin a new chapter in her life when her mother YOSHIYAMA Kazuko is suddenly knocked unconscious. Hearing that Kazuko somehow intends to travel back in time to 1972 to meet someone named FUKAMACHI, Akari decides to go in her place, only to arrive two years too late.

Working over night with colleagues, a head injury from a traffic accident, constant sleepiness on the job and a bird slamming itself into the office window… on top of a pressing deadline at her advertising job, YOSHIKAWA is having the worst week ever. As if her headache wasn’t bad enough, her coworkers ENDO and MURATA are going mad and claim the entire office is stuck in a time loop… but after a few rounds of reliving the same mundane Monday, YOSHIKAWA soon realises they’re telling the truth. Now the teammates must work together, enlighten their oblivious colleagues and find a way to end this endless Monday!

Sosuke, who is suddenly invited to apprentice for a famous Sumi-e painter, immediately becomes engrossed in the art. At the same time, Sosuke is carrying a deep emotional burden that he has not been able to overcome. He begins to slowly change when he meets the master painter’s granddaughter. A story of a young man’s recovery through the deep allure of Sumi-e ink painting, which renders the natural world and life itself in shades of black and white. Featuring popular young stars, YOHOHAMA Ryusei and KIYOHARA Kaya and directed by KOIZUMI Nori, known for his hit film Chihayafuru.

Every Day a Good Day (2018)

Based on essayist MORISHITA Noriko’s long-selling book and directed by OMORI Tatsushi, Every Day a Good Day stars KUROKI Haru of The Little House as 20-year-old Noriko, whose mother suggests she starts taking tea ceremony lessons with Mrs. Takeda known for being an extraordinary teacher played by the equally extraordinary KIKI Kilin. At first, Noriko is confused by the ceremony with its meticulous nature, but later comes to realize it offers a unique way of understanding life and the challenges that lie ahead.
