OutlineTo support the project aiming to build and sustain visual cross-cultural connections between villages in Japan and the USA, focusing on the arts, environment, and social justice. It involves a diverse group of participants, including artisans, academics, and community members. Key activities include a two-week residency in Nishiawakura for 10 members from Shelburne will offer an immersive cultural experience, with pre-trip planning to enhance the experience.

Project TitleCreating Educationally Communal and Sustainable Collaborations: Innovations and Best Practices in Disaster and Related Displacement Prevention and Preparedness: Japan and the United States 
OutlineThis project builds on existing collaborations between the University of Oklahoma (OU) and Ritsumeikan University (RU) by hosting a symposium to explore issues related to disaster preparedness and responses.  Both the state of Oklahoma where OU is located, and the Kansai area where RU is situated have experienced major natural disasters in their histories. The research symposium will bring together thought leaders from Japan and the US to address the global issues of disaster response and human migration.

To support the Norman City and Seika Town 20th Anniversary Sister City Commemoration Project in Norman Oklahoma. For the 20th Anniversary of the Sister City relationship, Norman City and Seika Town will conduct an Exhibition to showcase the arts and crafts from both the city and town.
