About
2023 Abe Fellows Global Forum, Hedging Against Risk – Japan in an Uncertain World: Geo-Dynamics of Northeast Asia, features Abe Fellows Mireya Solis, Brookings Institution; Aynne Kokas, University of Virginia; Phillip Lipscy, University of Toronto; Ulrike Schaede, University of California, San Diego, and moderated by Satu Limaye, East West Center, Washington, DC.
Panelists will discuss questions about how nations hedge risks in a world in which the global flow of goods, data, and services is regularly interrupted by natural hazards, man-made conflict, and political relationships within the international order; how these global and external issues impact domestic politics; and how these domestic issues impact the international community. The event is a partnership among the East-West Center in Washington, DC, the Social Science Research Council, and the Japan Foundation, New York.
This event is supported through the JFNY Global Partnership grant.
