Outline | Building an Integrated Approach to Japanese Studies: Classical Culture, Global Encounters will fortify University of Arizona’s research and educational initiatives in Japanese Studies. The program will be reinvigorated by hiring a professor in the underrepresented field of pre-modern literature and also by themed workshops, sponsored lectures, library acquisitions, fellowships, and enriching curriculum development resources. These initiatives will build networks across the university’s research community, support emerging Japanese Studies scholars, and extend the research and teaching capacity into time periods and themes of study lacking sufficient attention. |
