Project Title Tenure-track assistant/associate professor, Japanese Language and Culture
Grant Period 2023/8/1-2026/7/31
Outline This grant will support a new tenure-track assistant, associate, or full professor of Japanese Language and Culture in the department of Language, Literature, and Culture at Clark University. The preference will be for candidates whose research interests focus on Japanese contemporary culture and language, or those who can forge links between Japan’s traditional/historical cultural heritage and contemporary culture and language. The new tenure-track faculty in Japanese language and culture will serve as an anchor to relaunch Clark University’s Japanese Studies program by revamping the institution’s offerings beyond language courses, introducing new pedagogy, and offering new cultural and literary courses that are of interest to students at Clark.
