To provide a series of Japanese cultural activities to students at Leader High School, a public school located in south Brooklyn, and other local community members through NYC Parks & Recreation Centers. Activities includes Japanese cooking classes, Origami, Shodo, Otedama etc.

Augmenting Japan Studies for K-12 Teachers: New Connections and Directions 
Project Director: Catherine Ishida 
To design and implement 26 Japan-related events that explore five themes: Japan in the world, natural sciences and Japan through literature, Japanese customs and arts, Japanese poetry, and women in modern Japan.

Japanese Culinary Partnership Program: Inspiring Japanese Cultural Exploration Through Food 
Project Director: Mayumi Uejima-Carr 
To support the project which is implemented over a 12-month period, encompassing program development (outreach to partners, curriculum development, instructor training system development) and implementation (instructor training, in-person class implementation) phases. During the implementation phase, instructors at the partner organizations deliver at least 20 events about Japanese food and food education.
