GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE: November 1, 2026
The Japan Foundation and Social Science Research Council are pleased to announce the next round of the institutional grants for the “SSRC–JF Next Generation Japan Studies Development Program,” an initiative designed to cultivate interest in Japan and support the development of the next generation of scholars in Japanese Studies.
This initiative comprises three components:
(1) Study Tour Grants: for undergraduate and master’s students to travel to Japan
(2) Postdoctoral Fellowships: for fellowships in the U.S.
(3) Visiting Professor Grants: for Japanese professors to teach and research in the U.S. for up to 6 weeks
