The electrifying chemistry between Orpheus and pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii — built on a decade of listening, trust, and unrivaled artistry — is so special that the orchestra named him an honorary member. They reunite for a romp through the frisky Piano Concerto No. 2 that made young Beethoven a force to be reckoned with. The program is rounded out by a new arrangement of Brahms’s First Piano Trio, a seminal work that signaled the genius of the young composer, and a debut work from millennial superstar Viet Cuong, whose signature talent for joyful, invigorating orchestration makes a welcome first appearance with Orpheus.
