Japanese American National Museum’s Fourth National Conference: “Speaking Up! Democracy, Justice, Dignity”
$6,633
“Speaking Up! Democracy, Justice, Dignity” will provide a forum for attendees to learn about and connect with the unique aspects of the Japanese American story. The Fourth National Conference will foster educational and cultural exchange by exploring connections between the U.S. and Japan and by mixing Japanese American and Japanese perspectives, through a series of thirty-two sessions that feature scholars from the U.S., Canada, and Japan. Through the Conference sessions, native Japanese speakers will have opportunities to learn about the American version of a shared history and the residual impacts the World War II Japanese American incarceration continues to have on the people of Japanese descent living in the U.S.
