Embrace Rural: Why it Matters

Time & Location

October 22
Japan Society (New York, NY)

About

From Nebraska to Niigata, rural communities are being neglected out of existence. Yet, cities like New York and Tokyo are highly dependent on rural areas for food and energy. This event will feature Tsuyoshi Sekihara, founder of the Kamiechigo Yamazato Fan Club and Janet Topolsky, Executive Director of Aspen Institute Community Strategies Group. They will be joined by Richard McCarthy from Slow Food International to share their experiences and insights about this growing issue.

This event is part of “Exploring an Innovative Model for Rural Revitalization.” Both are supported by CGP.
